Everything Will Be Alright
Holding the Truth for Someone Else
WELLNESS

I said it to a client recently. "Everything will be alright." It's a phrase we offer like a lighthouse beam in a fog. But as the words left my mouth, I caught myself wondering: My gut knows this is true, but how will he? When you're in the thick of it, "alright" feels far-fetched. We say the words to quiet the room, but the internal monologue often whispers, "But what if it isn't?" We're wired to seek proof - a signed guarantee that the struggle will be worth it.
Maybe, "everything will be alright" isn't a prediction. It's a testament. When I say it to a client, friend, my kids or to myself, I'm not looking into a crystal ball. I'm looking at a track record. I'm looking at the determination we all have at making it through the days we thought we couldn't. We know it's true because we've seen the sun rise after the longest nights before.
Sometimes, we just need someone else to hold that truth for us until we're ready to believe it again ourselves. It might not be alright today. But history suggests that "alright" is exactly where we're headed.
With love xoxo
